She began her career with lyric and coloratura roles, including Mozart’s Susanna (Figaro) and Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Rosina in Rossini’s Barber, and Adele in Die Fledermaus. She has since made the switch to the young dramatic soprano repertoire and now performs such roles as Desdemona from Verdi’s Otello, Donna Anna from Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and Mimì from Puccini’s La Bohème. Natalie Karl has made guest appearances at the Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, and Dresden Staatsoper companies; Zurich Opera; Amsterdam National Opera; Opéra national de Paris; and Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Together with the tenor Matthias Klink, she has developed the operetta project Die ganze Welt ist himmelblau and recorded it on CD.
