Jamil Attar

Jamil Attar, who was born in 1993 in France, studied contemporary dance and ballet at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Lyon while also completing his training as a jazz percussionist at the École Nationale de Musique, Danse et Art Dramatique de Villeurbanne. He acquired his initial experiences at the Junior Ballet Lyon, touring France with them and presenting such works as his own dance piece Henya. He has taken part in productions by Giorgio Mancini Ballet (Mozart per Gioco) and in projects with Mitia Fedotenko and the Belgian choreographer Wim Vandekeybus and presented his own production Artificial Landscape Project in 2014 in Geneva. In May, Attar performed the part of the Lucifer dancer in Stockhausen’s DONNERSTAG aus LICHT under Peter Eötvös in Hamburg. He will appear in INORI in September in Paris and will also accompany Harris Gekas and his company Strates on a tour in the 2018-19 season.
