Federica Lombardi studied at the Liceo Musicale Angelo Massini in Forlì, was a member of the Accademia di perfezionamento per cantanti lirici of La Scala in Milan in the 2015-16 season, took part in Salzburg Festival’s Young Singers Project in 2015, and is the winner of prizes in numerous international competitions, including the Concorso AsLiCo in Como. The Italian soprano is a sought-after Mozart interpreter and has appeared as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) at the Met in New York and the Vienna Staatsoper, Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) at the Bavarian Staatsoper, and as Elettra (Idomeneo) at La Scala in Milan, where she also played the title role in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena. Her role debut as Desdemona (Verdi’s Otello) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and her debut at the Salzburg Festival are both planned for 2020. In the concert hall, she has sung Mozart’s Requiem under Zubin Mehta and Rossini’s Messa di Gloria under Sir Antonio Pappano.
