The French dancer and choreographer Emmanuelle Grach was born in 1987 in Caen. She was only six when she began her training at the regional conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt, initially in classical and later also in contemporary dance, which she continued at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Paris, starting in 2004, with Susan Alexander, Peter Goss, and Joëlle Mazet among her teachers. After graduating in 2009, she formed her own company, Nevermind, with which she won first prize at the Les Synodales Choreography Competition in Sens. She was also among the finalists at the 2010 Concours Danse Élargie. Emmanuelle Grach has worked with such groups as the ensemble Le Balcon, with whom she performed Peter Eötvös’s opera of the same name, and has taken part in performances of Stockhausen’s DONNERSTAG aus LICHT as the Michael dancer at the Theater Basel (2016) and in Hamburg (2018).
