Igor Levit invites you to the Piano Fest over an extended weekend in early May. For the third edition, which runs from 29 May to 1 June 2025, he will again present a thoughtfully curated range of piano music that is expansive and varied. Levit himself will appear not only in a solo recital – in a program that includes Franz Liszt’s virtuoso arrangement of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony – but also in an all-Mozart program with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. He has additionally invited star organist Iveta Apkalna, who will perform on the KKL Luzern’s large Goll organ in a program combining works by Johann Sebastian Bach with music by the American Minimalist composer Philipp Glass. The celebrated piano entertainer Chilly Gonzales and singer-songwriter Malakoff Kowalski will also participate: together with Levit, Gonzales, and Johanna Summer, Kowalski will give a convention-defying song recital.
