Michael & Friends: With Susanna Mälkki

It's a very special honor to welcome Susanna Mälkki to the third and final week of the Lucerne Festival Academy 2023. She will work with the young musicians on compositions by Enno Poppe, Unsuk Chin, and Igor Stravinsky, which will be performed in the KKL Luzern Concert hall on 2 September.

In the run-up to this exciting project, Festival Director Michael Haefliger met up with Susanna Mälkki in his series "Michael & Friends". The two long-time friends enjoyed a friendly conversation, chatting about Susanna's memories of Lucerne, the program she will conduct, and of course our festival theme "Paradise".
