Michael & Friends: With Alan Gilbert

Closing off our Summer Festival 2024, Alan Gilbert will conduct Arnold Schönberg's "Gurre-Lieder" on 15 September, two days after Schönberg's 150th birthday.

In the latest installment of our series "Michael & Friends", Gilbert talks to Lucerne Festival director Michael Haefliger about the challenges of this massive score, resuming projects after a break of many years, and the expectations placed on musicians today with regard to their role in society.
