Deep Listening: New Music. With Tyshawn Sorey

US-born drummer, pianist, trombonist, composer, and conductor Tyshawn Sorey is Lucerne Festival's "artiste étoile" 2022. Sorey resists being pigeonholed: He moves between the realms of jazz and new music, combining composed and improvised material. Especially in our era of specialization, he commands an extremely diverse artistic profile — and one that is extraordinarily creative and productive.
