Debut 2023: Ben Goldscheider

Meet horn player Ben Goldscheider, who will give his Lucerne Festival debut on 5 September 2023. Passionate about new music, Goldscheider has created a program which pairs current works by Jörg Widmann, Sara Cubarsi, and Mark Simpson with repertoires staples by Ludwig van Beethoven and Robert Schumann.

In this short clip, Ben Goldscheider introduces us to the program he will be playing in Lucerne. We also get to hear a first taste of his music making with pianist Richard Uttley as they play Robert Schumann's Adagio in A-flat major for horn and piano, Op. 70 (full recording here).
