Anne-Sophie Mutter on Thomas Adès' "Air"

"The sky is the limit!"

On 27 August 2022, violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra will present the world premiere of the new composition by composer-in-residence Thomas Adès at Lucerne Festival (conducted by Adès himself). "Air" was commissioned by Roche as part of the "Roche Commissions" series for Lucerne Festival, with Anne-Sophie Mutter, the Carnegie Hall, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra as co-commissioners.

Anne-Sophie Mutter met with festival director Michael Haefliger on Lucerne's Inseli to introduce Adès' piece to the audience in a relaxed summer atmosphere.
