Nothing seems more sustainable than music. Music makes our world a little better — with every note and melody. And the best thing of all is that music has survived every trend so far: it endures forever. We want music to survive — just like our environment, our society, our culture. For future generations.
The 2022 Summer Festival is all about diversity. At Zurich Insurance and Lucerne Festival, we believe that each of us can have a positive impact.
That's why we have joined forces to create a better future, a future that is more diverse and in harmony with our planet – today and for future generations.
The conductor Glass Marcano and the trumpeter Aaron Azunda Akugbo embody a new generation of musicians and stand for diversity. In short clips they introduce themselves, describe what classical music means to them, challenge prejudices and reveal how they would like to help shape the future of classical music. Do you want to hear their stories?
From 8–10 August 2022 we invited our audience to participate in the collaborative campaign of Lucerne Festival and Zurich Insurance "Every note makes a difference". Lucerne Festival visitors stepped into a statue in the main foyer of the KKL to make a pledge for a better future. For each pledge made, a tree will be planted in the "Zurich Forest".
Together with our long-standing partner Zurich Insurance, in the Summer of 2021 we have launched the Musicians for Future initiative. Our goal was: stimulate a discussion on the topic of sustainability. Inspire and motivate each individual to make their contribution to a better future.
