Thanks to the generosity of numerous foundations, we have been able to set the stage for various groundbreaking projects over the past 20 years – from promoting young talent to realizing contemporary productions.
Lucerne Festival organizes a one-week Music Camp every summer together with Superar Suisse. The aim is to foster the interest in music among children and young people from very different backgrounds while allowing them to experience at first hand such values as solidarity, harmony and mutual responsibility. The Music Camp is made possible by the Hilti Foundation.
The “räsonanz – Donor concerts” series focuses on bringing contemporary orchestral works to today’s concert stage through high-quality performances by eminent international orchestras and renowned soloists. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, together with the Lucerne Festival and musica viva of the Bavarian Radio, makes possible one concert each year in Lucerne and Munich.
The Fritz Gerber Foundation and Lucerne Festival have promoted three young musicians in the field of contemporary classical music every year since 2015 with the Fritz Gerber Award. Each award winner receives a cash prize of CHF 10,000 and the opportunity to attend the Lucerne Festival Academy.
What do Anne-Sophie Mutter, Sol Gabetta and Christian Tetzlaff have in common? They all performed at Lucerne Festival for the first time in the Debut series. With this format, up-and-coming stars on the threshold of an international career are given an important podium to introduce themselves to the music world, and the festival audience can discover the classical music stars of tomorrow. The seven to eight concerts each summer are supported by the Strebi Foundation Lucerne.
