Pierre Boulez, one of the most significant innovators in music following the Second World War, was born 100 years ago.

Lucerne Festival is celebrating the eminent French composer, conductor, and musical thinker, who had close associations with Lucerne as the founder and long-standing director of the Lucerne Festival Academy. Some of his most significant works will be featured at the 2025 Summer Festival, from the early Notations to the Livre pour quatuor and the epochal Répons. And we will rediscover Poésie pour pouvoir, Boulez’s early vision of an electronic-instrumental spatial music.
