What a magnificent festival evening! Star violinist Ray Chen performs the lush Violin Concerto by Erich Wolfgang Korngold. Then we head for the heights: Jakub Hrůša conducts the Lucerne Festival Orchestra in Richard Strauss’s An Alpine Symphony. With its vast orchestral forces, it portrays a mountain ascent — hunting horns and cowbells, waterfalls and storms included. We will round off the evening together with the orchestra’s musicians.

We are delighted to invite you to attend rehearsals of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, as well as the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. These rehearsal visits, held at Südpol in Kriens and at the KKL Lucerne, will be complemented by moderated artist talks.
