The percussionist Gilles Durot was born in 1983 in the Gironde, France. He studied at the Conservatories of Bordeaux and Paris with Jean-Daniel Lecoq and Michel Cerutti, also acquiring experiences as a graduate of the LUCERNE FESTIVAL ACADEMY. In 2008 he was engaged as a member of the Ensemble intercontemporain, and he has also played with the Orchestre national de France, the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France, and the Orchestra of the Opéra national de Paris, working with Pierre Boulez, Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, Peter Eötvös, Jonathan Nott, and Matthias Pintscher. Gilles Durot is a co-founder of the Trio K/D/M, in which he performs with his colleague Victor Hanna and the accordionist Anthony Millet. He has additionally collaborated with various jazz and rock musicians, including Johnny Hallyday, Les Tambours du Bronx, Tomás Gubitsch, and Louis Sclavis. Since 2016 he has taught percussion at the Paris Conservatoire.
