Since 2022, the Lucerne Festival Orchestra has been giving performances in addition to those in summer. It attracts classical music fans from all over the world to Lucerne in the spring as well, when it presents a three-day festival of music on the weekend before Easter: through a mix of orchestral and chamber concerts, the orchestra focuses on a single composer each  spring. Felix Mendelssohn was in the spotlight for the first two festivals, in 2022 and 2023, when all five of his symphonies were performed and juxtaposed with works by significant contemporaries of the composer. Since 2024 the spring festival offers a fresh look at Ludwig van Beethoven.
